Get to know me.

Originally from Tacoma, Washington, (think Bing Crosby, Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Gary Larson (The Far Side) and others) I started my adult life working for my father, Jim Russell, a custom carpenter in Reno, NV. He served Reno's casino owners with custom carpentry, magnificent redwood decks and saunas, and virtually anything requiring an expert craftsman with wood forming skills. My brother, Jason Russell, continued in the craft and now 30 years later is America's foremost custom deck builder with more than 500,000 followers. (https://www.instagram.com/drdecks/) Together, my brother and I learned crucial construction and carpentry skills. My father went on to build portions of Francis Ford Coppola's winery, including an amazing staircase and cabinetry. In my late 20's, I went on to create a neon sign company (NeonFX) and art gallery (The Electric Alley), while I hustled as an evening entertainer on Fort Lewis as a disc jockey at the NCO club. Eventually, after 10 years creating some of the Northwest's best electrical signage, I was invited to work alongside the world famous artist Dale Chihuly (ie. Bellagio Ceiling creator; see also Chihuly Over Venice; Phoenix Botanical Garden) and served Chihuly on several large neon art installations (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBWEP9qjMPs) like the Tacoma Dome's "100,000 Pounds of Ice and Neon". Some of my artwork is published in Dale's many books. I still dabble in the artform, and some of my work is on the website www.neonart.com.

The 2008-2011 mortgage crises changed many things for many people, including myself... where I shut down my neon sign company, and pursued a sales career in the signage industry. This included a career with TubeArt in Seattle - Starbuck's chosen supplier for signage worldwide... and then the Pattison Sign Group, the world's largest sign company, where I developed into a national-account signage sales role. During this time, I was also acquiring residential rental properties, and remodelling them myself. My sales success attracted the attention of America's largest roofing company, CentiMark, and I switched careers into the roofing industry. I had roofed several of my own properties, using mostly comp shingles and standing seam metal... Flat roofs were a meritorious learning experience for me and I was highly successful at CentiMark, selling more than $20,000,000 in roofing project in 2020, earning the company's top sales award amongst all National Account Managers.

After more than 7 years in the roofing industry and working for 2 of the largest commercial roofers in America, I've learned a few things and have made some crucial connections. I decided it was time to choose my own direction offering more control over roofing and waterproofing projects, while partnering with select contractors who had proven themselves to the companies I had worked for. Having more control over how projects are designed, specified and estimated, and directly overseeing the quality of my installations allows me to deliver a higher standard of service, support, overall customer experience, and ultimate value.

I look forward to bringing you the ultimate value in roofing and waterproofing services!!

My mission

I'm on a mission to change the way building owners and managers obtain the best value for their roofing dollar. Listening to your needs and concerns is paramount while I bring you a hybrid-consultant approach to sales. Working alongside the best roofing craftspeople, subcontractors and roofing products and systems, while operating with lower overhead and higher accountability to my clients. I more perfectly match my clients needs and expectations with systems and contractors that fit their tastes, needs, and budgets.

Your vision

There are endless needs for capital to sustain and grow your business, but limited dollars to ensure pain-free performance of your building envelope. We all want to live in a world where people can contract for services that match their needs rather than having to find a compromise and settle on the second-best option - you need to trust your vendors: Quality, safety, trouble-free and timely project execution, long-lasting performance and pain-free warranty support. My career has been built around analysing the best roofing processes for each individual roofing project, working to solve complex problems and applying the best industry practices to ensure your vision is accomplished.

At your service

My strength lies in my experience with the most demanding customers, large portfolio management and program oversight, and relationships with proven teams of installers, contractors and suppliers.
